We were rained out Saturday but winning 4-0 over Brandon in the 4th inning. We had to resume play Monday. Brandon scored 1 run in the top of the 4th and then we scored 10 runs in the bottom of the 4th and held on in the 5th to end the game. Noah Keller started the game on Saturday but could not pitch on Monday because of pitch limit rules but had 3 hits on the day to lead the Martians at the plate. Brayden Raether had 2 hits and 3 rbi while Josh Belanger also had 2 hits. Noah Keller and Mason Vitale teamed up to strike out 9 walking 3 and giving up 4 hits.

Linden beat Lake Fenton in the other semi final. The district final was a pitchers duel. The game was scoreless until the 6th inning and whoever scored first was going to win. With 2 outs in the 6th Colby reached base by a Linden error. Josh Belanger drew a walk. Brayden Raether singled on a line drive to center field and scored Phipps from second to score the games only run. There were numerous defensive plays by each team that kept the fans on the edge of their seats. Colby threw a great game and was in control the entire time. He is a three year varsity player and it showed today. He was poised and a true leader. He went 7 innings giving up 4 hits, walking 3 and striking out 6. Brayden Raether had 2 of the Martians 4 hits and the lone rbi. We played a strong game and we have been really fun to watch lately. This is the time of year where you want to be playing well and we certainly are! This is Goodrich’s 3rd straight district title. Goodrich is currently 27-10 and moving on to Eaton Rapids for the Regional on Wednesday at 5:00 to face the Gray hounds of Eaton Rapids.
