After a one year hiatus the Battle of M15 has returned to the varsity football schedule. Goodrich will travel to Brandon on Thursday August 30th to take on the Blackhawks for local bragging rights and regain possession of the “Milk Jug.” The Milk Jug is awarded to the winner of the varsity football game and pays homage to the tradition of dairy farming in each community.
Goodrich leads the overall series 30-14 with the Martians last win coming in 2014, Brandon won the most recent contest in 2016 the longest winning streak in the series for each club is Goodrich, 9 and Brandon, 5
The game will also be a benefit game to honor Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Overall and 1st Responders. Each team will wear special jerseys. Deputy Overall lost his life in 2017 during an attempted traffic stop. Deputy Overall had a strong connection to the Brandon Blackhawk family and community.
